PET provides a good barrier to gases compared to other polymers, however not sufficient for many foods and beverages that may be particularly sensitive to oxygen.

Therefore if oxygen enters through the container and comes in contact with the product it can cause: colour change, change of taste, loss of nutrients and vitamins.

IFAP offers both Monolayer Solutions, in which a scavenger for O2 (active barrier) is introduced in the formulation, and Multilayer solutions where the active barrier is present in the middle layer.
